RICHARD SERBIN 1980’s Round Gold Pendant EUC

Serbin was the go-to jewelry designer for the Runway Models from fashion houses such as Blass, Beane, Oscar de La Renta, etc. in the 1980’s.

His Channel-like designs ran the gamut from minimalist modern to modern opulent. He was U.S.A. Based.

This gold hammered metal pendant measures 1 1/4” in diameter and weighs 11.68 grams.

It has a double bale and is about as thick as a silver dollar.

The name Richard Serbin is encased by an oval on the reverse  side.

The front has a raised dimensional circular whorl design. This whorl is reminiscent of Van Gogh’s starry night or as a kid’s puzzle with a little steel ball bearing you had to tilt to get it into the center hole.

These design aspects combined with a semi matte / shiny gold finish creates a motion which attracts the eye.

There is some slight surface wear and a small scratch on the back (no doubt, someone testing to see if it is real gold).

The piece is in great shape.  The gold tone plating has retained its shine.

Will arrive in a jewelry store box ready for gifting.

What a great Mother’s Day present or just an addition to any modernist abstract jewelry collection.

It is reminiscent of the types of fine jewelry you might see in the Museum Shop at MOMA.
