• New England Glass Co (NEGC)
• Ashburton
• Open Sugars
• Crystal; Clear
• Quantity: 2
• Antique Flint, Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) c. 1840-60's
• Measurements: 4 1/4" high and 4 1/2" rim diameter with some variance
• Weight, prepackaged: 2 lbs 10.9 oz as a set

• Condition: TOne has a flat chip on the underside of the foot. The balance and other sugar are free of chips and cracks. There is some minor roughness on the mold seams and light wear on the highest parts of the pattern from storage. There are some minor marks from storage or use, none easily seen without inspection. The bases have finished pointils and light shelf wear as expected. The glass is clear and free of cloudiness with a light green glow under UV light. They both have bell like\ resonance. The measurements and clarity of the glass varies between the two pieces as seen in the photos.

Ashburton was produced by several glass houses in the mid 1800's. Both of these pieces have two steps where the bowl connects to the foot and pontils, indicating they are almost certainly NEGC. This set shows how the pattern, glass and pressing evolved during production from the 1840's to the 1860's.
