You are buying one Spice Bush in a 4" quart pot 10-14" in height.  Spice Bush or commonly known as pond berry. A native shrub from the laurel family grows 3-4' tall and 2' wide at maturity. Flowers before leaves appear in clusters on nodes of last years growth. Fruit is a short stalked shiny red berry with a single seed. The common name refers to the sweet spicy fragrance of the stems, leaves and fruits when bruised. This shrub is a MUST if your a bird lover/watcher. Over 20 species of birds have been recorded as browsing the leaves or eating the fruits. The fruits are a special favorite of wood thrushes.
          Spice Bush plants make nicely shaped shrubs with deep green leaves and if in at least partial sun the leaves turn bright yellow in fall. It is a good choice for planting in shady locations but can also grow in full sun. Moist soils are best.
