Ex-library, properly de-accessioned with occasional rubber stamps in the text block, labels on the pastedowns. Bound by/for the Library with wraps and ads excised. Tight, flat, square book with significant wear about the hinges and edges; corners, head and tail bumped. Was three-quarter leather, the corner pieces have worn almost completely away and the spine has been taped over. Pages starting to tone. High quality photography and engraving illustration fiction and non-fiction focused on outdoor activities of all types. Some of the books in this collection had a few pages excised after binding by less than scrupulous readers. 

Outing (sometimes titled The Outing Magazine) was a late 19th- and early 20th-century  magazine covering a variety of sporting activities. It began publication in 1882 as the Wheelman "an illustrated magazine of cycling literature and news" and had four title changes before ceasing publication in 1923. It was based in Boston.
