The cabinet photos measure appproximately 4.25 x 6, and 4.25 x 6.5. The CDV measures 2.5 x 4.25. Please see our Brown family genealogy which we have researched and presented below. Condition: These are original photographs, not a copy or reproduction. They are in very good condition. One cabinet photo and the CDV have some foxing (age spotting). FAMILY GENEALOGY: The Brown family photos, all originating from the same family album, are being listed and sold separately. This section will include an overall look at the family lines. We will add an * (asterisk) after the names of those individuals whose photos have been listed in our inventory. The progenitors of this family line are MOSES MERRILL BROWN* and his wife JOANNA ANN M. BENT*. Moses was born April 12, 1831 in Vienna, Maine, and died February 8, 1907 in Farmington, Maine. He was the son of Joshua Brown II (1804-1894) and Sarah Fellows (1907-1849). Moses and Joanna were married November 15, 1856. Joanna was born July 27, 1835 in Vienna, Maine, and died March 28, 1913 in Farmington, Maine. She was the daughter of Samuel Brown Bent (1801-1882) and Susannah Graves (1800-1863). The children of Moses and Joanna include: Viola S. Brown* (m. Chapman), Elmer A. Brown*, Bertha E. Brown* (m. Marwick), Nora Brown* (m. Childs) and very likely Georgia Brown*. The individual lines of these children of Moses and Joanna are as follows: VIOLA S. BROWN CHAPMAN* was born October 30, 1857 in Maine. She was married to Loren Chapman (also seen as Loring, born 1855) on March 4, 1881 in Kennebec, Maine. Their only known child was Leon Merrill Brown (Chapman)* who was born April 10, 1882 in New Castle, Delaware, married Garnett F. Giles (1903-1939), and died May 10, 1956 in New Castle, Delaware. No children from this union are known. (There is a question as to why Leon was given his mothers maiden name Brown instead of his fathers surname Chapman. I would normally suspect it was a mistake on the genealogy site, but because his surname is also shown as Brown in the family album, it will remain for the time a mystery.) ELMER A. BROWN* was born February 28, 1861 in Vienna, Maine, and died in 1947. He was married to Ethel L. Jones* from Canada (1861-1949) on April 10, 1889 in Worcester, Massachusetts. There are no known children from this union. BERTHA BROWN: She was born in 1865. Nothing else is known about her. However, it is pretty clear she died young, as a sibling born 11 years later was given the name Bertha E. Brown. NORA M. BROWN CHILDS* was born born May 15, 1871 in Vienna, Maine, and died March 11, 1953 in Franklin, Maine. She was married to Frank L. Childs (1865-1939) on June 6, 1893 in Vienna, Maine. Their children included Guy Frank Childs* (1898-1962), Edythe M. Childs (1900-1965, m. Thurlow Carlton Hall), and Eva Maud Childs (1905-1991, m. Donald Baldwin Stewart.) BERTHA E. BROWN MARWICK* was born in 1876 in Maine, and died in 1954. She was married to Edward Ernest Marwick (1875-1949) on September 18, 1900 in Farmington, Maine. There are no known children from this union. GEORGIA BROWN*: The CDV photo of young Georgia is the only individual in the album who is not accounted for in the online genealogy. However, her photo was taken by the same studio in Farmington, Maine as two other children of Moses and Joanna. (Note: The handwritten name strips will be included as shown, along with a photocopy of a portion of the online report.)
