This species is also known as Acca sellowiana.  It is a beautiful small tree to 18 feet from South America that gets purple flowers with red stamens, edible fruits with a pineapple like taste, and great green foliage.  These seeds are from a plant that has been growing in zone 7, so the resulting seedlings should yield some good hardiness.  These beautiful plants grow best in full sun to part shade, and they are hardy to zone 7a or possibly colder with good protection.  They would make excellent additions to your rare plant collection, or just make a unique statement in your yard.
