This is a vintage Wm Rogers silverplate Butter Dish with a pineapple finial.  This butter plate is unmarked but I have matched it with an identical one bearing a sticker on the bottom identifying it as Wm Rogers, International Silver, pattern 987.  The pattern dates to mid century.  This silverplated butter dish belonged to my mother who used it from at least the 1960s.  It is in good shape, having only been used for holidays and special occasions.  This one is missing a glass insert dish.  There are a few light scratches, but is in great shape for its age.  It measures about 8" long and 4.5" wide.
