Creobic is an antifungal cream produced by Kotra Pharma, a pharmaceutical company based at Melaka, Malaysia. Fungi can be found everywhere such as in plants, soil, and even on our skin. Fungal infection in skin and nails is one of the most frequent forms of skin diseases and is proven to affect 20-25% of the population around the world. Antifungal medications work to treat fungal infection by either killing fungi directly or preventing their growth.

Fungi normally infect sweaty or damp areas that do not have sufficient airflow like feet, groin, and folds of skin. Symptoms of fungal infection differ depending on body parts but usually include rashes, discolouration of the skin, itching, scaling (shedding of skin with flakes), cracks in skin and soreness. There are a few elements that cause an increased risk of getting fungal skin infection such as living in a warm or wet environment, sweating heavily, sharing items like clothes, shoe, towels or bedding, wearing tight clothing or footwear, not keeping skin clean and dry, taking part in activities that involved frequent skin-to-skin contact, in contact with infected animals and having a weakened immune system due to immunosuppressant drugs, cancer treatment or diseases like HIV.

The active ingredient in Creobic cream is Clotrimazole 1%w/w that mainly used to manage all fungal skin infections due to dermatophytes, yeasts, moulds, and other fungi. It is a white coloured water-miscible cream. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before starting any creobic cream, the treatment should be terminated immediately if any signs of hypersensitivity appears.
