For your consideration is a monumental and authentic antique Japanese master craftsman red lacquer over paper mache mask, designed for the purpose of actual use in Noh theatre. It measures 11" high by 7.5" wide. This wonderful mask is signed/marked on the inside with a paper label (see second photo). There are signs of wear that are consistent with the age of this mask, such as scratches and consistent chips on the paint. (see last 5 photos for details).
