MEDIUM BAG OF SMALL URANIUM ROCKS

3.5 OZ. WEIGHT

$12.00 Plus  $9.80 Shipping

NATURAL URANIUM ROCKS

3.5 OZ. SEALED MEDIUM POLY BAG

Most of these rocks are from Jurassic Canyon, NM:

Richest Surface-Level Uranium Field in the USA;

A few rocks may also be from Uravan CO

or from Lisbon Valley UT.

I collected these rocks on several recent

prospecting, trips, during June and July 2021. These

rocks are too small to sell individually, so they are

gathered as a small group, totalling 3.5 oz. weight.

The rocks are a random mixture of these enriched

mineral types:  Jurassic Todilto Limestone

(JTL), Carnotite,  Coffinite,  Tyuyamunite, and

Uraninite.  I will enclose a geology journal article

that declares Jurassic Canyon NM to be the main

worldwide source for JTL uranium rocks. What

makes this especially interesting is that the JTL

rock is the type most likely to contain radioactive

fossils of dinosaurs. Several states have locations

with ancient dinosaur fossils (e.g., Oregon's John

Day State Park, or Colorado's Dinosaur National

Monument), but only two locations have numerous

radioactive dinosaur fossils: Jurassic Canyon NM,

and sites near Price Utah's Dinosaur Museum.

WHY THE CHANGE FROM THE

2.5 OZ $9.00 SMALL BAGS?

The small bags: 2.5 oz of rocks for $9.00

plus shipping, will still be offered!  Both

sizes will be available.  The two clear poly

bags can hold this slightly larger weight of

rocks (3.5 oz. instead of 2.5 oz.), and yet

postage cost for mailing will remain constant

for the two size-choices.  Radiation levels will

be similar: 10,000. CPM minimum, in the same

way, for the two size-choices.  Adding the

3.5 oz. size enables me to include larger rocks

than what was possible previously for the smaller

2.5 oz. weight alternative.

THIS CHANGE IS NOT

PRICE-INFLATION!

Do the calculations, to show that the rocks'

price-per ounce has NOT shown price-inflation,

in any way.  In the old packaging of 2.5 oz.,

the price-per-ounce remains unchanged @

$3.60 per ounce.  These new larger packages

of 3.5 oz. for $12.00, cost merely $3.43 per

ounce, a very slight DECLINE in price!

The radioactive response varies from package

to package; the minimum response is 10,000.

CPM, when measured with a standard pancake

probe such as Ludlum's Model 44-9 probe.

The buyer CANNOT state, "Send me only

rock bags with high-level response, above

40,000. CPM."  These are bags of rock

samples only; to specify a high response

rate, then the buyer must choose a high-

level single rock.  These rock-bags will be

wrapped in brown paper, so the response-

rate will NOT be known prior to its

mailing to the buyer.

NOTE that uranium, whether in a single-

rock form or as a collection of rock-

pebbles, CANNOT be shipped to any

foreign country. This even applies to

Canada, a neighboring country that has

far more uranium reserves underground,

than is true for the USA.

SEALED CLEAR DOUBLE POLY BAG

These rocks must be left sealed inside their clear

container: Two thick zip-lock bags, one inside the

other.  DO NOT OPEN; the rocks' radioactivity can

be measured safely through the double-thick clear

poly bag. The rock varieties differ from others, but

each bag's highest measured activity level is 10,000

cpm or more, when measured with a sensitive pancake probe.

The empty two clear poly bags, combined, weigh

about 0.4 oz.  The 3.5 oz.weight is for the bare

rocks only; I weigh the rocks on my digital scale,

prior to moving the rocks to the smaller inner bag.

ALL FEDERAL REGULATIONS

ABOUT URANIUM

ROCKS ARE CORRECTLY OBEYED

(1) BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT (BLM):

Collection of rocks is okay for rockhound

hobbyists; ATV vehicles are not allowed;  daily

limit on weight of collected rocks permitted.

(2)  NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION (NRC):

No manufacturing from rocks allowed without NRC

advance license; correct labeling; medical heath

safety statement.

(3)  U.S. POST OFFICE  (USPS): Double-box

packaging of mailed rocks; metal shielding of

uranium rocks;  no exports allowed to any

foreign countries.

SAFE HANDLING OF ROCKS

IS PRESENTED ON SEVERAL

WRITTEN  HANDOUTS

(1)  "Health Precautions to be Followed When Handling

Uranium Ore"  (one page; written by the seller)

(2)  "A Word about Safe Handling"  (one page;

written by Ph.D. geologist / book author Robert Lauf)

(3)  "Unwrapping and Storing Your Uranium Rock

Collection"  (one page; written by the seller)

(4) "Small Bag of Mixed Uranium Rocks"  (half-page;

(5)  " Jurassic Todilto Limestone:  The NM Canyon's

Very Unique Uranium Mineral"  (two pages; written

by the seller,   July 2022)

(6)  "What  Are the Standards and Regulations for

Uranium Exposure?"  (two pages;  compiled by the

Federal OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health

Administration) and the Federal EPA (Environmental

Protection Agency),  2009)

POLY BAGS ARE SELECTED

RANDOMLY PRIOR TO MAILING

These poly bags vary in their activity levels, but

buyers cannot choose a preferred activity level:

medium or upper.  Each bag is wrapped in brown

paper before it is sold, so its specific activity level

is unknown. Its activity level will be at some random

level, 10,000 cpm or higher, with level measured by a

standard pancake probe.

SHIPPING

Shipping is only allowed within the USA, NOT to any

foreign country, because of USPS postal rules. If

you buy several poly bags, you may be charged

extra postage cost on each bag, but I will REFUND

to the buyer's PayPal account any overpayment on

the combined package. The postage cost partial-

refund will be done soon after the package has

been mailed.

SUGGESTION TO URANIUM

ROCK HOUNDS: JOIN ME SOON

TO COLLECT MORE ROCKS!

The underground mines at Jurassic

Canyon closed during the late 1980s,

because nuclear power had become

unpopular at that time. But today,

nuclear power has restored its

popularity among environmentalists,

mainly because it has NO carbon

content and it contributes nothing

to global warming. The underground

mining will resurrect, if/when the

world price of uranium reaches

$65.00 per lb. Currently, that

price is rising, and is approx.

$58.00. The whole town of Grants

NM is eager to see the return of

local prosperity when the mines are

re-opened again!

But uranium "rockhounds" should

arrange with me soon, to join me for

uranium rock-collecting; when the

mines re-open, eight-ft fences around them will keep "rockhounds"

like me away from the best

rock-collecting sites! It has

now been two full years since I

have been out there collecting rocks

with visitors; join me now!  My first

14 of 35 trips to Jurassic Canyon

were done alone, but that is risky

because the uranium field is inhabited

by a few rattlesnakes; I fear that,

if I collect rocks alone and get a

snake bite, I might not be able to

drive the car 22 miles to the hospital

in Grants. I need a companion when

collecting the rocks!  On the last day

of a 3-5 day outing, I divide the

found rocks with the guest, 50-50

so we each get the same weight of

found rocks, at the end. If any

found rocks are radioactive dinosaur

fossils, those too are shared 50-50.

Arrange your rock-collecting visit!
