Antique vintage embossed copper enamel wall decoration made in Armenia in the Soviet era 1980s or even early in the 1970s which evokes the Armenian festivity of Jan Gyulum also known as Hampartsoum.

 

In the ancient times, Armenian women participated in a traditional festivity called "Jan Gyulum". Jan Gyulum is also known as Hampartsoum, a celebration of love and enjoyment, which takes place outdoors in the month of May, 40 days after Easter (referred to as Ascension Day) which on May 9th, the Armenian Church celebrated the Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ (“Hampartsoum” in Armenian). The day marks the ascent of our Lord into heaven, on the 40th day after his resurrection.
