DOMBES - PRINCIPALITY DOMBES - MARIE DE BOURBON-MONTPENSIER

(27/02/1608-29/05/1627) 

Mary, only daughter of Henri de Dombes and Henriette Catherine de Joyeuse, was born October 15, 1605. Because of his fortune, Henry IV signed a marriage with her second son, Nicolas Duc d'Orleans, when she was older than three years. Nicolas died in 1611 so that Marie de Medici offered his son Gaston, Duke of Anjou. The union of Gaston and Mary took place in Nantes August 5, 1626. She gave birth to a daughter May 29, 1627 but died after her confinement since June 4, leaving the usufruct of the principality of Dombes her husband Gaston, brother of King Louis XIII of France.
