Extremely rare elephant folio containing 16 full-page tinted lithographs and 24 full-page architectural illustrations of the newly restored Windsor Castle. The restoration was commissioned in 1824 and completed in 1840 shortly after the death of lead architect, Jeffry Wyatville (pictured in the frontispiece). The folio of the architectural plans was authored by Michael Gandy and Benjamin Gaud who worked with Wyatville and used many of his drawings in this publication.

Original brown and black leather boards with gilt-stamped titles and royal (House of Windsor) decoratives. Dedication page to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. 42 illustrations in all including the frontis portrait, a vignette, 16 tissue-protected tinted lithographs, and 24 architectural drawings. Heavy book ~14 lbs. 21.5" x 15".
