What's on this DVD;  Land and Live in the Jungle

This DVD is a US Army Air Forces film on Surviving in the Jungle. This story is about how to survive if your plane went down in the Jungle or wetlands.  This is a great 2 reel film on how to survive in the jungle and was part of an AAF "LAND and LIVE" series that the Army produced during WW2.  If you ever watched the "Survivor man", "Duel Survivors" or "Man vs. Wild", You can see where they might have got the informational skills to survive.  Fire, shelter, and food and signaling are the primary skills needed for a pilot to live after they crash land.  These skills are just as valid today as they were then.  We hope you'll enjoy.

1st film; "Land and Live in the Jungle".  Reel 1.  In this film, The crew bail out together but get separated from the pilot.  After landing, the crew goes about collecting fuel for a fire, make shoes out of their survival pack and the build a shelter.  After using there parachutes to wrap his feet, they all go out to look for food.  Runtime 32:36 Min's

2nd film; "Land and Live in the Jungle".  Reel 2. In this reel, The pilot is alone and tries to find the others.  The crew builds a trap and catch a badger.  Then they travel down the river after building a raft.  Because they had a good signaling plan, A search plane spots them and sends them a ration kit. They eventually find a village for help and get help to find there pilot.  Runtime 27:35 Min's

3rd Film; "Jungle Training".  This is a US Army Big Picture on Jungle Training in the Panama jungles.  It does not get any wetter then here.  Runtime 9:20 Min's

4th Film; "FAA Tropical Survival". In this film, The FAA puts together a film about surviving in the tropics.  Concentrates on shelters and how to survive. Great information for a downed pilot, or anyone else could in the jungle. Runtime 19.46 min's

5th Film; "Survival Jungle Newsreels". This is a collection of Jungle Newsreels about training in WWII and fighting the Japanese in the jungle.  1st; Jungle Training in Burma.  2nd; Jungle Training in Hawaii.  3rd; Snap Rifle training in Jungle.  4th; Japs and the Jungle.  5th; Jungle Shelters. Very good training for all today.
