This whimsy antique 1940's drunk on a lamppost cast iron ashtray was crafted by The John Wright Co that was founded in the 1880's in Wrightsville, PA! The sweet tipsy figure is wearing a dapper top hat and tuxedo while holding himself up on the street lamp post for dear life after a night on the town. Weighted and sturdy, this is a true iconic figure of days gone by! Perfect for a basement barware accoutrement or cast iron collection! This kitschy gent is already oiled and ready to bring fresh glam to your modern home!

The John Wright Company’s long history of quality cast iron products runs back over 135 years. John Wright began in 1947 and started to manufacture souvenirs and gifts on the banks of the Susquehanna River in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. In the 1960s, through mergers and acquisitions, we acquired the complete product line of the Wrightsville Hardware Company, dating back to 1880.

Ashtray is in excellent condition! No cracks or splits! The usual pre-loved light surface wear to drunk & lamppost painted finish here and there from years of helping Frank keep his basement bar decor booming, but nothing that distracts from this treasure of vintage cast iron history! Please see enlarged pic for best description and details.
