OTHER:  Emerald Okra is a Campbell Soup Company variety from 1950 that is still popular today. It has dark green 6 – 8” long pods that are smooth. They are spineless & stringless, & stay very tender to maturity. This early variety is not as woody as other types, & the pods are round, not octagon like many Okras. The tough plants offer heavy yields even in adverse conditions, & will continue to produce until frost. Get ready to harvest fresh okra daily, or take some to market. Emerald is wonderful in soups & stews, boiled, deep fried, or stir fried, & it freezes well too!
