*India Organic Darjeeling "Risheehat" Black Tea*

This is an organically grown 2013 India Darjeeling  SFTGFOP1 loose leaf specialty black tea direct from Risheehat Tea Estate. It is an early spring first flush tippy tea. Risheehat is an old tea garden established in the 19th century and produces tea of exceptional quality. From the organic tea garden, one can see Khanchanjungha Peak which is part of the majestic Himalayan mountain range.

Tea Notes:

Dry Tea Leaf Appearance: Neatly twisted leaf with grayish green, brown, and yellow hues with a good display of silver tips.

Dry Tea Leaf Aroma: Complex flowery and mild fruity notes.

Tea Liquor: Bright, lime-yellow with a light shade of copper-like tint.

Tea Taste: Mild citrusy fruit and floral flavor notes coupled with a clean, semi-dry lingering finish that satisfies the palate.

Comments: A delicious and satisfying first flush tippy darjeeling from a respectable organic tea garden. I suggest keeping the steeping time short and brew with a lower water temperature than black tea to prevent producing bitter notes, unless that is one's preference. One should be able to coax 2 to 3 flavorful steepings from the same tea leaves.

Steeping Tips:

1. Use fresh, cold, filtered, reverse osmosis or spring water (best).

2. Boil water and set aside to cool for ~3 minutes.

3. Add 1 heaping teaspoon or 4-5 grams of premium darjeeling tea leaves to your
favorite tea vessel. (6-8 oz liquid capacity)

4. Pour hot water ~ 175-185°F/79-85°C over the premium darjeeling tea leaves and steep for 2~3 minutes or to your desired taste preference.

5. Strain and taste. For a strong flavored iced tea steep for at least 5 minutes.
