Five friends meet in Panama for a vacation. Scott and his girlfriend Steph, Elena, Trevor and Charlie are partying one night and they meet locals Julio and Carmen. They ask to be guided to Darien Gap, but Julio warns them away because some other teenagers were killed there. However, Carmen tells them of a beautiful waterfall and to hike there.

The group hike far into the jungle to reach the waterfall by the following morning with Carmen as their guide. When she disappears they are left stranded and the group scatter when they catch a glimpse of a wild animal stalking them. Scott hikes to higher ground hoping for better cell-phone service and records a distress video hoping it will reach someone. The following day Scotts video has gone viral prompting Panama authorities to mount a search and rescue team assisted by Julio.
