Brand new factory sealed dvd 2-disc special edition comes with its protective O-ring dust jacket. Dust jacket has done its job as it has a few light scuffs on the upper left corner. It also has a couple of wrinkles from the printing factory, one on the top middle edge and one over the word RIM. (see photo)

Nations of the world have united their resources to create giant robotic fighting machines known as Jaegers ("hunters") to combat the terrifying Kaiju ("giant monsters") who have emerged from the oceans to wreak havoc around the globe. Controlled simutaneously by two pilots, even the Jaegers proved nearly defenseless against the Kaiju.

Now on the verge of defeat, mankind must turn to washed-up pilot Hunnam, adrift since he lost his brother in battle, he is sought out by his former commander (the imposing Idris Elba) for one last attempt to defeat the Kaiju, providing he can find a suitable partner.

This could turn out to be the untested trainee, petite but powerful Rinko Kikuchi. These unlikely heroes are the last hope against a mounting apocalypse in a seemingly obsolete Jaeger. Not just another rock-'em-sock-'em robot movie, but a fresh, great-looking, genuinely exciting action yarn set in a science-fiction future.

Only complaint is that it should have been shot in 2.35:1 aspect ratio rather than the cramped looking battle scenes as shot in 1.85:1. I believe they took my advice for this on part two.
