OF THE
TWENTIES & THIRTIES

9 March-6 April, 1968
Gotham Book Mart
41 W 47 NYC NY

Seven loose black-and-white reproductions laid into a folder enclosed in a cover envelope with a water color reproduction attached. The water cover illustration "is in fact illustration #4."--Andreas Brown.

One thousand copies of the catalog portfolio were printed on Tweedweave papers and set in Caslon Antique Face.

This is one of 50 copies comprising the Limited Boxed Edition
containing
an original Cummings drawing.

Originally intended to be numbered--according to Brown no copies were numbered.

"Only the fifty copies were issued in the tan linen folding slipbox and contained the original Circus pencil drawing. All of the fifty drawings came from a sketch pad which e.e. cummings had taken with him on one of his many visits to the circus."--Andreas Brown.

The included drawing in this copy has penciled circus drawings/sketches on both sides with cummings raised-stamp with address in the upper right corner.

Included with the portfolio is the original former owner's inquiry letter addressed to Gotham with questions regarding the limited issue. Andreas Brown has answered the questions clarifying publication points in a separate letter of response. Original Gotham envelope included.

Portfolio slipcase
(6 1/2" by 9 1/4") and contents are in near fine to fine condition.
