• This is a vintage Steven's cardboard kaleidoscope.  Manufacture date unknown but I've had this for well over 40 years. 

There is one internal triangle pane that is present but dislodged from the base.  Uncertain if this can be opened up to repair it or not.  The viewing screen is opaque so not a lot of light comes through.  The glass/plastic stones/beads have lost their color over the years.  The mechanism turns freely.
