Warmly inscribed, SIGNED with her full name and additionally SIGNED "Auntie Bond" to the upper front end-paper.

Tipped in to the lower front end-paper is a 1913 Volland-printed, hand-colored by "KSD" card, with MY SOMEBODY titled verse credited to "CJB".

Tipped on to the verso of the frontispiece is an original thick-card-stock (5.25 X 4.5) sepia-toned photograph of the author in performance attire, with the author's penned comment to the upper edge "When Auntie Bond was young".

Laid in is an original candid glossy photograph 3 X 4.25 picturing a country walking scene with the author in casual outdoors attire, accompanied by dogs, two men and a lad (possibly her son).

Also laid in are three postcards of buildings from the High School Tuskegee Institute, Alabama;
hand-written to various Cline family members in Los Angeles, all signed from "Mother & Mildred".

Illustrated with thirty photographs on striking black-and-white plates.

A detailed memoir of the singer, pianist, songwriter, poet, short story writer, and early woman business entrepreneur who started the Bond Sheet music Company and retail stores.

Jacobs-Bond wrote over 175 pieces of music,
collaborated with Paul Lawrence Dunbar on five songs, and was the first woman to sell over a million copies of a song: I LOVE YOU TRULY.

Her second most famous song A PERFECT DAY is memorably used in the Stanwyck/MacMurray film REMEMBER THE NIGHT.

Mild flecking, and minor soil-staining to covers, else about very good in blue linen with partially flecked gilt embossed titles to the front cover and with slightly tarnished gilt embossed titles to the spine, light foxing to the upper page edges and mildly to some internal pages; no dust jacket.
