The buyer said that he has not recieved the item

I am a seller, the buyer said that he has not recieved the item, but tracking info said the item was delivered in/at mail box a week ago, what should I do in this case?

Occasionally, the USPS will deliver to the wrong address. It’s happened to me before.

It may help if you talk to the post office.

I recently had the same experience, only I was the buyer. Package showed delivered in/at mail box. Only problem I was right there when he delivered, no package delivered. I came in, double checked tracking, and sure enough, it showed delivered at the same time I was there at the mail box.

I did 2 things

1) mistakes happen, so I put a note on my neighbors doors stating the mail person MAY have left my package with their mail, and asked if they do have my package if they would call me and I’d go pick it up.

2) went down to the post office. This part is really cool, they can actually track to see exactly where the postal employee was when the package was scanned at deivery. This is ONLY available at the physical post office. Their tracking tracked the package 2 blocks away. The next day, the mailman delivered my package to me with a BIG apology.

It would take work on your customer’s ends, but with today’s technology, they can find the package. OH… DON’T TAKE ‘It was delivered’ as their response…they can find it or within yards anyway. You need to be insistent, as they tend to blow a lot of people off.

I hope this helpls

I had the same thing happen to me as a buyer. I checked with my neighbors. Then went to the post office and they checked the tracking. Found it 6 miles away. Was delivered to West instead of East. Got it in a couple of days.

I actually had something like this happen, and the post office was wonderful. turns out that the substitute mail carrier did not know the difference bewet Dutch Village (where I live) and Stony Run (where I do not live) they brought it to the wrong complex and it sat in the office.

True once_again, it happend to me with a seller on another site. Only she put the wrong address, which was very simlar to mine, my post office asked me my address, they said it was delivered to my neighbor. The seller actually put the wrong address and they still found it.

That is cool. Is this something new the PO started doing. That is great!!!

Definitely true cshort. Like at my bank I count on them to clear a check the next business day rather than 2 days. Kindness goes a long way.

THAT is great info! Thank you!!!

How you deal with it is between you and your buyer…
[URL removed]

send the buyer the link to the tracking information

Ask the buyer to show or ask his mail carrier about the delivery..to see if they remember delivering it or check neighbors to see if it was delivered to wrong address

Try to track it yourself by contacting the post office

or nothing

But as I said, it will be between you, your buyer and paypal..and how you choose to deal with it…but in the end, tracking shows delivered so it will be up to the buyer to try and find it and paypal will go by the fact that tracking shows delivery

You dont have to do anything if you choose not to. It was delivered. You did your part., your customer needs to bring the tracking into their post office and let them handle it.
If they try to go thru paypal, you will win the dispute since the package shows delivered.

I agree. It’s why we use tracking, for just such occasions as this. That doesn’t mean someone else didn’t pick it up from the buyers mailbox/porch, but if so, that is the buyer/post office/thief issue.

Yes Loves_birds, as unfortunate as that is, it is on them. The seller has done their part.
