About the Author

PETER CARLAFTES a New York-based editor and author. He is editor of three short story collections in the Have a NYC noir series, and published four other mystery/noir collections including the Anthony Award-winning anthology The Obama Inheritance: 15 Stories of Conspiracy Noir. He is also author of two poetry collections and two play collections. He is co-director of Three Rooms Press. He lives in New York City.

Gary Phillips is the Anthony Award-winning editor of The Obama Inheritance, and a critically acclaimed author of mystery and graphic novels (The Darker Mask, Bangers, Violent Spring). Raised in South Central Los Angeles, Phillips draws on his experiences from anti-police abuse community organizing and anti-apartheid activism in his work. He was the chair of the Eleanor Taylor Bland Crime Fiction Writers of Color committee, and was president of the Private Eye Writers of America.

Alison Gaylin is the Edgar Award-winning author of 11 books. A former reporter for a supermarket tabloid, enjoys writing about people doing despicable things. While the events in her story are mostly fictitious, she does believe that Las Vegas is a magical place, where pretty much anything can happen. She lives in Woodstock, NY.
