This snack plate was made from hand colored porcelain clay. First I colored several batches of porcelain by hand with Mason stains, and layered them into a loaf in a Double 4 quilt pattern. I sliced off pieces of the loaf and draped them over a wavy mold. I bisqued fired them, and then I put a clear glaze on the top of the piece to provide a non-porous surface for food usage. The pieces were then fired to maturity at cone 6. Absolutely One Of A Kind! About 5" square.

 

These eight were the "good ones"! Sadly, there were several others that could serve as strainers. The colored clay layering process is tricky. 

 

This listing is for one of the eight shown. If you have a preference for a specific one, please let me know. I will check off as they are sold. They are exactly the same but different, LOL, since they are one slice after the other from the OOAK clay original loaf. Matching cups are also available.
