Vintage 1997 historical fiction hardcover with Light Blue Cloth Boards and Black lettering written by American environmentalist, economist, and writer Winona LaDuke. Book is a novel on the Anishinaabe Indians, tracing their struggle to restore their culture and regain their land. From the Sioux Uprising of the 1860s to the 1970s occupation by Indian militants of the Minnesota White Earth Reservation, to the present problems of alcoholism and sexual abuse. Book is in gently used, fine condition with faint shelf wear to the sides and edges of the Dust Jacket. Features a "flat signed" signature by LaDuke on the third interior title page. Spine is tight and the book's interior is clean and intact with no tears, folds, marks, missing pages, handwriting, notations or other damage. An excellent condition signed vintage copy with very little exterior wear.
