Pack 1: Mickey Mouse ‘Colors & Shapes’

This set of learning cards teach your childbasic shapes and colors through games and activities.  Before playing have your child say the color and shape on the card.

Shape Memory Match Game: Mix up the cards and lay them face down on a table.  Taking turns, flip over two cards.  If the cards match, that player keeps the cards and draws until no match is made.  The player with the most cards wins.

Color Hunt Activity: Shuffle the cads and place them down in a pile.  Flip over the top card, say the color, and then find an object in the room that matches the color. For example, if a green card is drawn, the child would note the color by saying, ‘green’.  Then, the child might point to a green plant.  Make sure not to use the same object more than once.

Pack 10.       Pooh’s ‘Colors & Shapes’

Point to the picture on a card and emphasize the color name.  Example: ‘Pooh is sitting on a green circle’.  Ask your child to repeat the color name.  Ask: ‘What color is it?’  After a few repetitions, your child should begin to recognize the color.  Then, ask your child to name other things in the room which are the same color.  The, ask questions, such as ‘What color is your shirt?’  Ask similar question for shapes.
