THE WORST JOURNEY IN THE WORLD (Vol. 2)

by Apsley Cherry-Garrard

Penguin Books, 1937 (#100)

First Paperback Printing

Condition: Good+

First published in hardback in 1922, this is the story of Scott's last expedition to the South Pole. This first paperback printing by (appropriately) Penguin Books of England in two volumes (this is only the 2nd volume & begins numbering at page 321), it was one of their earlier titles, preceding publication of the first Pocket Book in America. Spine end & corner wear, some edge wear, some curling of page corners and small page corner creases, moderate spine lean, red staining on end papers, edge bump affecting some pages and two page edge chips, page toning; also, the front cover and spine were separated (not detached) from the book, so the spine has been re-glued. Despite all this, a rather nice-looking copy.
