Item description for Vintage Ballerina Ballet Dancers Brooch Pin Rhinestones Scatter Set 3

This is an elegant and lovely set of three Ballerina Dancers. Each dancer has on a tutu or dress with green rhinestones along the hem or edge of the dress. The off the shoulder dress also has aurora borealis rhinestones on the bodice or waist of the gown. The green rhinestones are a bit different than normal clear faceted stones, they have more of a rounded look to them, although the tops are faceted. The large brooch measures approximately 2 inches tall and each of the smaller dancers are 1 ¼ inches tall. It is hard to determine the color of the metal. They appear to be a very pale gold tone metal, but in certain lights have more of a silver tint to them. The large dancer has three open cut design areas on her skirt, while the smaller ones have two. These pins are most likely from the late 1950s to 1960s, AB stones weren’t in use until after 1955. They are unsigned and remind me of the Marcel Boucher ballerinas in their style.

These are in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The finish is nice and shiny, and there are no missing rhinestones. One of the small dancers has been repaired. She had separated at the waist and has been super glued back together. You can’t see the repair with the naked eye unless you know it is there and look for it. I have pointed it out in one of the magnified pictures and the set is priced accordingly as if there were two dancers, not three. All three have secure and fully functional rollover clasps. These are the perfect gift for any ballet dancer or someone who loves performing arts. If you are looking for a token of appreciation to give to a dance teacher, this would be ideal. The set can be worn together or individually. They would also look great as a creative project for a shadow box to hang on a wall. You could set up a scene for your favorite ballet and add the pins in as part of the composition.
