Item description for Vintage Scorpio Scorpion Symbol Sign Brooch Pin Rhinestones Book Piece

This is a gorgeous Scorpio brooch featuring a Scorpion and the symbol or glyph for the Zodiac sign Scorpio. The symbol is in the shape of the letter M with the Scorpion tail stinger at the end. The symbol on this brooch is held between the Scorpion’s claws. It is decorated with little faux seed pearls and clear rhinestones. It measures approximately 2 ¼ inches long and 1 ½ inches wide. This same brooch can be found on page 151 of "Warman's Costume Jewelry Figurals" by Kathy Flood, copyright 2007 editiion. She lists it as an unsigned DeNicola design from the 1970s.

It is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The gold tone finish is nice and shiny and there is no loss of the gold other than the tiny spots on the pin on the back (see arrows in pictures). You don't see it without magnification. The rhinestones and faux pearls are all in place and the roll over clasp works just fine. This elegant brooch would be the perfect gift for anyone born under the sign of Scorpio. It is quite unusual and is sure to be a conversation piece. Scorpios are born October 23rd to November 21st and it is the 8th Astrological Sign in the Zodiac.
