12 Princess Pine Stems Green Wreath Garland
Floral Accent Fairy Garden Mini Tree
Hand-picked from northern MN, USA

These princess pine sprigs feel feathery soft and are a unique style of greenery sure to wow the crowd.

Native to USA, these truly are rare since they grow so incredibly slow that a nursery won't grow them, thus one must go out into the woods to find them. Sustainably harvested, where I pick a few and leave many behind.

They're NOT dried, but picked fresh just for you within the same or one day of shipping your order.

FEATURES
  • SOFT: Looks prickly, but has a feathery feel.
  • FRESH: I'll pick it within one day of mailing it out (weather permitting)
  • STROBILI: Some have the strobili (yellow spiked spore/flower head), and some don't. They probably won't have many or any spores in spring, though.
  • SIZE: each stem is 6-10 in. long (most are over 8 in.)
  • QTY: This listing is for 48 stems
  • COLOR: a beautiful natural evergreen (some are lighter green, and some are dark green).
  • NOTE: These do NOT have roots (unless a tiny bit by accident); these are STEMS ONLY.
  • ALL NATURAL: no color, dyes, pesticides, chemicals or preservatives used or added whatsoever.
Sustainably harvested from the wild wood of northern MN, USA, usually by the wife of the Tim's Diamond Willow family.

DETAILS
  • BOTANICAL NAMES: Also known as: Prickly Tree Ground-pine, Round-branched Groundpine, Princess Pine; Family: Lycopodiaceae (Clubmoss); Genus: Dendrolycopodium; Species: dendroideum
  • NATIVE PLANT: They grow wild all over our place in northern MN, but I gotta clamber through the woods full of fallen down logs, low branches and bush growing close together to get to 'em.
  • SUSTAINABLY HARVESTED: I take just a few and leave a bunch from each area or cluster, as opposed to taking a bunch and leaving a few. And since they grow slow, I keep track and make sure not to harvest from the same place more than once every 5 yrs.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
  • It's probably best to give the stems a fresh cut, taking off 0.25'' - 0.5'' so the wound is fresh and can absorb water more easily...but that's only if you want it to stay soft and fresh, and not necessary if you plan to use them right away. But DO KEEP THEM IN WATER. Though you may not want to do this if you intend to dry them out and preserve them, or for other reasons. It depends on what you're using them for.
  • Everyone uses these for different purposes, so please research what is recommended for you to do with fresh cut evergreen branches, based on your desired use of this plant.
  • OPEN BOX IMMEDIATELY no matter what you plan to use these for, put in a cool place. These do NOT like to get hot.
  • HOW TO STORE THESE: You can store these for several weeks IF they're kept (1) in WATER (2) in SHADE (3) in a COOL place. Just replace the water once every couple days or so.
SHIPPING
  • POSTAL CARRIER: USPS Priority or Express (you choose)
  • PACKAGING: I will give the stem a fresh cut and wrap in a wet paper towel so the plant can get something to drink while in transit. Then I'll put these in a plastic bag inside a box (so it doesn't leak while in transit). Please recycle plastic when you're done with it.
AVAILABLE LIMITED TIME: I occasionally remove these pine listings if I hear cougars or wolves around (anywhere from 1-4 weeks at a time), and of course when the snow is too thick to dig through. (Trivia: August is only month there's never been snow here), or if I'm just too busy (going to get them doesn't take too long, but cleaning them and packing them up takes a very long time for me).

PLEASE NOTE: Higher quantities available--just check my other listings.
