NOTE: This series can best be summed up by the presage that serves as both prologue and epilogue for the series - "There is a weapon in the universe more powerful than all others. "Taking Charge!" Guest-starring Spitfire and the Troubleshooters. Story by Jim Shooter. Art by John Romita, Jr. And Al Williamson. Ken Connell begins to test the limits of his new found abilities and soon begins to wonder if the Star Brand has any limits. When terrorists threaten to detonate a nuclear device, killing their 1200 hostages, Connell decides it's time to do something with his amazing new abilities. Plus, Ken crosses paths with an eclectic group of adventurers, the armored Spitfire and the Troubleshooters.

"The Fight!" Story by Jim Shooter. Art by John Romita, Jr. And Al Williamson. It's Ken's first interaction with other paranormals, but they are not the friendly kind. When he barely survives the encounter he discovers that the strength of the Star Brand's power depends on his own confidence and will power.

"Crossing the Line!" Story by Jim Shooter. Art by John Romita, Jr. and Al Williamson. Turmoil in his personal life causes Ken to take a more active role in the world using his Star Brand abilities. First up, putting a scare in Khaddafi. NOTE: At the time of the of this series relations between the US and Lybia were strained, to say the least.
