If you love Rococo style or are looking for a charming Louis XV style cabinet for your French Country interior design scheme, this exquisite antique French cabinet is an authentic and very beautiful choice. The antique cabinet or sideboard dates to the year 1900 and it is a direct import from France. The French craftsmen who crafted this Louis XV style piece more than a century ago chose walnut wood to show off their fine carving skills. Rococo details include the lavish Rococo swirl or flourish carved on top of the cabinet, which gives it a delightful profile that will add character to any room. This very decorative cabinet also features a glass door on the upper hutch, with unusual details that are in the true spirit of sweet French Country style. Delightful French metal hardware on the doors and drawers also add to the decorative effect, making a lovely contrast against the patina of the walnut wood. You will enjoy the crafty carving illusion in the center of the lower cabinet. It looks as if there is a bank of small drawers, but actually this is another cupboard door. Between the door and drawer storage, this cabinet provides ample space in a dining room for storing your serving dishes, tureens, stemware, and table accessories such as placemats, linens, and flatware. But this amazing antique French Louis XV Rococo cabinet will make a fabulous statement in any room of the house for general household storage.
Condition
GOOD
In overall good condition. Antique and vintage items by their very nature show normal wear to finish and miscellaneous scratches, nicks, and dings due to age and use. As we define 'good condition' relative to the stated age of the piece, we would expect to see 'character marks' consistent with that age and could include nicks or dings on a piece of furniture, normal separation at joints in wood due to expansion and contraction over time, minor damage to veneer has been stabilized, most locks functioning, most drawers and doors open or slide easily, some original trim may be missing or has been replaced with genuine period-correct substitutes or new reproductions, and there may be one or more splits in the wood due to age and use. If there has been a break in the marble, it has been repaired and the repair may be visible. There may be minor restoration that is visible. Chairs considered 'good condition' may have professional structural repairs but are considered to be structurally sound. These types of repairs may be visible upon close inspection. Upholstered items may show wear consistent with age and use and may need to be reupholstered. EuroLux Antiques makes no representation regarding the comfort of chairs or useability for the customer's particular application.
Some stains on some shelves and inside drawers.
