1- Blaming him for the loss of the children of lower Upton, the townsfolk burn down Giuseppe's turnip factory and run him and Trout out of town. Sick and distraught, the two have no other recourse but to travel across the ocean to Giuseppe's childhood village. Trout is lost along the way, and Giuseppe is forced to deal with his brother's meddling in order to find the mysterious little boy he's sworn to protect. Can Giuseppe find him before Trout meets his fate at the hands of the god of the sea?! And who is the shadowy figure trapped in a giant shark egg who is struggling to keep Trout alive?! One thing's for certain: for better or worse, Trout will never be the same again.
2- Cast overboard, Trout disappears into the inky depths of the ocean. The next day Giuseppe wakes in his childhood home having barely escaped a similar fate and is confronted by another shock; his brother has transformed his childhood home into an oil refinery fueling a war. Giuseppe's world is falling apart.
3- The remaining glimmer of hope Giuseppe had for Trout's safety is destroyed, but he has no time to grieve, as he has to battle a war and a giant supernatural tsunami. Meanwhile, Trout has his own problems, trapped in the belly of the enemy, and Nicky Nine Doors continues to whisper his poison in the young boy's ear. Will Trout be reunited with his family? Only time will tell.
4- Trout's harrowing adventure comes to an earth-drenching conclusion. A huge tsunami has wiped out Giuseppe's village and along with it any hope he has of rescuing Trout. But a menagerie of fantastical sea creatures comes to the rescue and help our two heroes battle their past and embrace their future.
