This is a vintage, antiquarian novel, "The Big Fellow" by Fredrick Palmer, first edition, second printing, Sept 1908.  The vintage novel is cloth -hardbound.  The book was found in an old home in Virginia recently and is believed to have been in the same house since its original purchase in 1908.  The antiquarian book is in good condition, cover, spine and pages are clean and intact.  The volume shows 110 plus years of shelf wear, especially on edges and corners.  Pages have yellowed with age.  There are a couple of white spots on the cover, front and back (see photo closeups).

Frederick Palmer of Pleasantville, PA, worked for the New York Press in 1895 as their London Correspondent.  Over his 50 year career, he thrived as a War Correspondent, covering the Spanish American War in Manila, the Boxer Rebellion in China, the Boer War in South Africa, and World War I following General Pershing.  He was the first war correspondent to receive the Army's Distinguished Service Medal.  He wrote a series of books, generally focused on war, weaponry, and military strategy.
