First Flight - The Wright Brothers 

Stamps are on blank (unaddressed) letter size envelopes.

BACKSTORY: 

The Wright Brothers, from Dayton, Ohio invented and flew the first airplane. Because they were from Dayton, OH, that city is deemed (by Congress in 2003) to be the the birthplace of aviation.  

On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright launched their plane at Kill Devil Hill, North Carolina (AKA Kitty Hawk, NC) and it flew for 12 seconds. 

On May 3, 2003, USPS introduced their "First Flight" stamp honoring Wilbur and Orville Wright issuing first-day-of-issue covers in both their native Dayton, OH and in Kitty Hawk, NC.

Shipping charges are based on either first class/parcel post (depending on weight) or priority mail shipping and include a small handling charge. Handling charges include use of heavy packing tape, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, boxes, bubble envelopes, tissue paper, ribbon, adhesive shipping labels, daily trips to the post office to mail your purchases, etc. These are all supplies that I must purchase in order to carefully package and ship your items to assure that you receive them in satisfactory condition.

  • Please ask any questions PRIOR to placing your bid. I describe items as honestly as possible and to the best of my ability. I do not have a return policy but under some circumstances, I will accept a return. It is understood that shipping (both directions) is at the buyer's expense except in cases where the return is a result of an error on my part.
