Vintage crochet pattern from 1949 for a Short Sleeve Dress with Flared Skirt from Nomotta, called "The Spectator."   Includes a short section on working with ribbon.

Sizes: 14, 16, 18
Bust: 32, 34, 36 inches
Waist: 26 ½, 28, 30 inches


Materials required: 
Yarn - 
*Nomotta Ruban d'Art (100 yard spools), 11 (13-15) spools AND
*Clair de Lune (1 ounce skein), 7 (8-9) skeins or boucle type yarns
Circular Knitting Needles, US No. 5 (standard) or 3.75 mm
Straight Knitting Needles, US No. 5 (standard) or 3.75 mm
Steel crochet hook, US No. 2 (standard) or 2.25 mm
1 yard of 1 inch grosgrain ribbon 
1 yard ½ inch elastic
5 buttons
1 pair shoulder pads if desired
Snap fastener

Gauge: 
6 stitches = 1 inch and 2 patterns = 3 ½ inches when blocked
