What's on this DVD; Pitcairns and Umbaugh Autogyros
This DVD has some very RARE great old exciting AutoGyro Films. From Pitcairn's "Miss Champion" to Umbaugh's flying modern Autogyros. Plus a few film clips on Flying Cars. We hope you'll enjoy. 1st Film; "Pitcairn's Miss Champion" . This film was created by Champion Spark Plugs in 1934. The goal was to travel to distant places using the Pitcairn's Auto Gyro championing the "Champion sparkplugs" product. On this trip, they left Florida to go to 1st Havana, then to Yucatan ruins, then onto Yosemite where they land in the Yosemite valley floor, then onto Famous "Creator Lake in Oregon". This is a very RARE film and was expensive to purchase, but is a great piece of history. Great film. Runtime 10:45 Min's 2nd Film; "Umbaugh AutoGyros". This is a sales film by the Umbaugh Company to show off there great AutoGyro aircraft. The Company went under, but Nasa stated that it was a great design and used them for testing. Another rare film. Runtime 9:49 Min's 3rd Film; "Nasa's short story on AutoGyros". Nasa put together a few historical film clips on early flight and helicopters starting with Pitcairn's Autogyros. Great stuff and also a very rare film. Runtime 7:39 Min's 4th Film; "Early Aviation Newsreels". There is several newsreels on early helicopters and aircraft that lead up to Autogyros. Runtime 9:48 Min's 5th Film; "50 years of Flight". This is an Army film that documents 50 yrs of early flight, from the Wright Brothers 1st flight to 1950's jet aviation. Well worth seeing all of these rare films of planes and helicopters. Runtime; 28:25 Min's 6th Film; "History of the Helicopter". From the beginning of flight in the early 1900's to jet tipped helicopters, this film highlights the early development to the many uses of the helicopter today. Runtime 20:52 Min's 7th Film; "Flying Cars and Gandy Goose Cartoon". This is a very RARE film clips on flying cars. Flying cars never caught on, but was always a great dream.
